In the world of Dungeons and Dragons, there exist a humanoid race that greatly resembles the strong and clever elephants. We’ve seen Lizard-like and Cat-like folks from other fantasy games (including DnD) and we thought these characters are unique and awesome.
But D&D 5e expound further on the possibilities of other races, one such as the Loxodon. Loxodons are elephant-like humanoids introduced from the Guildmaster’s Guide to Ravnica gamebook. They resemble the elephants physically, with their heads composed of a trunk, tusks, spanning ears, and leathery skins. They have bipedal bodies and four thick fingers, while their feet are flat-bottomed just like a common elephant foot.
In this guide, we’ll discuss brief descriptions and traits of the Loxodons. You’ll be introduced to a list of our DnD 5e Best Male and Female Loxodon Names, a list of Class-Specific Loxodon Names, and a list of Funny Loxodon Names. Top Loxodon Names Suggestions
As a concluding part of this guide, we’ll give you a list of our Top 10 Best Loxodon name suggestions. We will rank all the suggested names from the earlier segments of this guide (male and female combined) and give a brief suggestion of what particular class you can use such names. We based the rankings on how relevant are the names in terms of lore and how it sounds in a Loxodon sense. Check them out below.
The simplicity and the tone of this name made this on the top spot for this list. Although the background lore is a bit basic. We can also consider this name for the Cleric class.
This Loxodon name is for gallant and heroic characters. We can consider this name for a Paladin, Fighter, or a Barbarian aligned with lawful good since we are talking about a character who favors heroism over glories and slaughter. The name sounds Loxodon and we wish to see this name in actual game scenarios.
This name means ‘Faithful’ in the Common tongue. The name itself sounds Loxodon and gives us a good appeal for the character. We also like the idea of a prudent Loxodon who fights for the weak and oppressed. She sounds very selfless, indeed!
Nafya the Keeper earned our 4th spot for this list. We’ll start on the possible classes. We can consider her name for the Paladin, Clerics, Rangers, and Druid because these are the classes that are possible to have roles as ‘Keepers’. (e.g., Keeper of the Forest for a Ranger, Keeper of the Citadel for a Cleric, etc.) Additionally, the name sounds Loxodon and gives us a nice impression of the character bearing this name.
This name is for Loxodon characters who want fairness and equality. It’s almost the same as wanting to serve justice for the oppressed. We love this idea of a justice-seeking Loxodon who opposes the abusive status quo in a society. The name also sounds very Loxodon, so that’s an additional point for this name.
This name means ‘The Force’. Not on Star Wars, but a mighty force feared on the battlefield. For this reason, a Barbarian class may be considered, although the Paladin class is also a nice choice. We think this name deserves the 6th spot for this list (or even better).
Fighting is the core attitude of Savri. Therefore, this name is befitting for a class that centers on fighting such as the Barbarian, Monk, Paladin, and Fighter. Not to mention, the name refers to a ‘Behemoth’, so yes, she is devastating. The name sounds Loxodon but the suggested names above sound much better. We think it deserves at least the 7th spot for this list.
This name suggests a Loxodon who belongs to a questing brigade. Although they like doing favors at the cost of gold pieces. But at least the evil threats are exterminated, right? Anyway, we find this name fitting for a Paladin, a Fighter, a Barbarian, and even a Ranger because of this bounty hunting and questing line of work.
Close-quarter combat is the keyword for this name. You become a fighter that uses your Ki to close the gap between you and your opponent. Pretty cool use of Ki, I know. But we can always expand our imagination regarding this name into considering it for a Fighter or a Barbarian class—who also prefer close-quarter combats. Let’s also not forget that the name sounds Loxodon and cool.
Last but not the least, the Sword Wielding Loxodon. We love the idea of a Loxodon who’s so proficient with swords to the point she can outmatch an elf. Wow. The name also sounds nice for a Loxodon name so we think this name deserves a spot on the list.
We also have other race-specific names aside from the Loxodon. Visit our D&D 5e Name Generator for more details. It’s easy to use and free. Try it for yourself!
